These problems all seem commonplace in news headlines and our daily lives. It led me to ask, “What is going on with this generation of children?”
Pediatricians try to fix these medical problems with a prescription pad. Instead of inhalers, epi-pens and Ritalin can we instead ask what is really going on in our children’s bodies that cause these issues in the first place? I asked these questions because I wanted to heal my family for the long-term. Medications seemed like a band-aid, not a cure.
My experience has taught me that this generation of children is paying the price for what we have been eating, breathing and injecting into them for years. Some of our children come into this world with a genetic predisposition to not be able to detoxify. When you add an abundance of environmental toxins, processed food and antibiotics this mix can lead to many of the illnesses mentioned above. Many children have GI tracts that are not working properly. A bad GI system impacts their immune system. If their immune system isn’t working properly, their mind and body aren’t working properly. It’s that simple.
About 70% of the body’s immune system is located in the stomach where neurotransmitters for proper brain function are produced. If we begin to heal the stomach, we can begin to heal all aspects of the body that are suffering.
I’m not a medical professional; I’m simply a mother who wanted some answers to why so many children are suffering. We are often told that the diagnosis given to a child is a life sentence but medications will help keep them alive and functioning. I think we can no longer accept this as the new norm and we need to get to the root cause of what is really doing on.
